Selected Areas of Wireless Communications and Networking

The technical track on Wireless Communications and Networking (WCN) of the ACM Symposium on Applied Computing (SAC 2025) will be held in Sicily, Italy, March 31 - April 4, 2025.

Scope

In the past few decades, wireless communications and networking (WCN) have become indispensable in modern society. These technologies have revolutionized connectivity, enabling global communication and interaction. Innovations such as 5G and the anticipated 6G networks, wireless sensor networks (WSNs), ad-hoc networks, WiMAX, and metaverse networking have driven this evolution. The continuous expansion of WCN applications has introduced groundbreaking technologies and shaped new research and development paradigms. Addressing the demand for innovative applications involves overcoming complex technical challenges with cutting-edge solutions. The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into networking solutions has further advanced the field by enabling autonomous and intelligent decision-making, thereby enhancing system performance. Another significant area of development is Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC), which merges communication and sensing functionalities, leading to more efficient and intelligent networks. Alongside WCN research, there is a significant focus on novel ideas and performance improvements for next-generation networking paradigms, including Future Internet architectures, software-defined networks (SDNs), and network virtualization. This special track aims to gather researchers, academics, and professionals working on emerging areas of wireless communications and networking to share their latest ideas, findings, and results.

Topics of Interest

Major topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:

Paper submission/publication

Authors are invited to submit original and unpublished papers of research and applications for this track. Full papers are limited to 8 pages with the option for up to 2 additional pages at extra charge ($80 per page). The author name(s) and address(es) must not appear in the body of the paper, and self-reference should be in the third person. This is to facilitate double-blind review. Only the title should be shown at the first page without the author information. Papers must be formatted according to the ACM SAC template. Contributions must contain original unpublished work. Papers that have been concurrently submitted to other conferences or journals (double submissions) will be automatically rejected. For full submission guidelines, please follow the instructions on the ACM SAC 2025 website. Please submit your contributions via SAC 2025 Webpage.

Prospective papers should be submitted using the provided automated submission system for Regular Papers and SRC Papers.

Important Note: Paper registration is required, allowing the inclusion of the paper/poster in the conference proceedings. An author or a proxy attending SAC MUST present the paper. This is a requirement for the paper/poster to be included in the ACM/IEEE digital library. No-show of scheduled papers and posters will result in excluding them from the ACM/IEEE digital library.

Important Dates

Submission of regular papers and SRC research abstracts: September 20, 2024

Notification of paper and SRC acceptance/rejection: October 30, 2024

Camera-ready copies of accepted papers/SRC: November 29, 2024

Author registration due date: December 6, 2024
